Sadness
I returned home from a doctor’s appointment today, and D had this page up on the computer. It’s a sad day for me, our diocese, and the Episcopal Church. The words of others will serve to sum up this man’s life better than I could ever hope to.
I am touched to know that J was baptized by his hands, and that A seems to associate the word “bishop” with Bishop Thompson’s likeness.
I also know that the sadness I am feeling is sadness for those of us he touched...and then left behind. I know Bishop Thompson is not sad. He is now with his Father. He is dancing with his wife again. He lived his life as an example of meaning and purpose and godliness.
Well done, good and faithful servant.
